For customers who want to ensure their mailing operations are environmentally friendly, DBM can provide a range of options including biodegradable polywrap and a choice of environmentally friendly paper products.

All our paper products contain recycled fibre from recovered waste paper and/or virgin fibre sourced under a certified chain of custody conforming to a certification scheme approved by the Central Point of Expertise on Timber Procurement (CPET), and are certified by either Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) or Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC).

All our paper products are produced using non-chlorinating bleaching methods, and are sourced from paper mills that operate an Environmental Management System conforming to BS EN ISO 14001.

All our paper products are fully recyclable, and by request, we are able to add recycle statements and/or logos on the outside of our mailings to encourage recycling.

As an ISO 14001:2015 UKAS accredited company, (with documented commitment to environmental performance, and a baseline for environmental performance which identifies and ensures compliance with environmental legislation and develops environmental objectives and targets), DBM qualify for an intermediate level discount on postage prices through Royal Mail’s Sustainable Mail service, enabling our customers to benefit from lower postage costs.

In order to qualify for this discount DBM meet a number of requirements such as those outlined below.

Ensure that all customer data is checked against deceased and gone away suppression files, including business gone away suppression files.
Regularly remove recipients from mailing lists where items have been returned from previous mailings as deceased, gone away or requesting opt-out.
Ensure at least 95% of items are fully and accurately addressed and postcoded in accordance with the Royal Mail Postcode Address File.
Ensure that all printing and mailing facilities have an environmental management system conforming to BS EN ISO 14001.
Ensure less than 90% ink coverage on the mailing.
No use of ultraviolet, varnish or laminate finishes or rubber-based adhesives.
No use of brown or manila paper/envelopes.
